When does the lacrosse season start?
The lacrosse season typically begins mid-March and runs through the first week of June. Practices usually kick off in mid-March, with the first games scheduled for the first weekend in April.
When are games scheduled?
All DYLC games are played on Sundays throughout the season. Game times and locations vary each week depending on your child’s age group and league schedule.
What equipment is required to play lacrosse?

Boys: Helmet, stick, chest and shoulder pads, mouth guard, gloves, and cleats.

Girls: Face guard or eye goggles, stick, mouth guard, and cleats. Many girls also prefer wearing gloves for added comfort.
All players should come prepared with the proper gear to ensure both safety and fun during practices and games.
When is registration for the spring season?
Registration opens at the beginning of January and closes at the end of January. Be sure to register early — teams must be submitted and uniforms ordered by the first week of February.
How many days a week do teams practice?

Grades 3 and above: Practice 2-3 days per week.

Grades 1–2: Practice once per week, with a game on Sundays.

All teams, across all age groups, typically have Saturday morning practices as part of their regular schedule.
Do players need prior experience to join?
Not at all! Our program welcomes players of all skill levels — from complete beginners to returning athletes. Our coaches focus on teaching the fundamentals in a fun, supportive way that helps every player improve and enjoy the game.
Where are practices and home games held?
All practices and home games take place at Friends Academy, located on Tucker Road in Dartmouth, MA.
Do players need to live in Dartmouth to join?
No — players from any community in the Southcoast area are welcome to register and be part of the Dartmouth Youth Lacrosse Club!
